Golden marks the north end of the Columbia River Wetlands — an area 1,080 km long and supporting over 300 species of birds and mammals.
From the east, Golden is the provincial gateway to British Columbia and the majestic Purcell and Selkirk Mountains. Six of the most stunning National Parks Canada has to offer surround it: Banff, Glacier, Jasper, Kootenay, Mount Revelstoke and Yoho.
